Feta & sesame bites with a sweet honey, lemon and pomegranate dip

Perfect for a social mezze type meal with friends, a starter or just as a cheeky snack in the evening with drinks these crisp meltingly delicious cubes of joy will have you wanting more.

Coated in sesame and nigella seeds with a sticky sweet and slightly sour dip, visually they look amazing and are so easy to make.

Here's how........

Ingredients

250g feta cut into 3cm cubes

100g sesame seeds

1 tbsp nigella seeds

1 beaten egg

2 tbsp plain flour

½ tsp cumin

½ tsp ground coriander

Salt and pepper

Vegetable oil to fry

Dip ingredients

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp pomegranate molasses

1 tsp sumac

1 tbsp lemon juice ½ tbsp salt

Method

Cut up the feta, then coat in a mixture of flour, cumin, coriander salt and pepper.

Dip into beaten egg then coat in the sesame and nigella seed mix.

I find having one ‘wet’ hand and one ‘dry’ hand works well here.

Set aside coated cubes on grease proof paper ready to fry.

Heat the oil in a saucepan and test with a small piece of bread, if it fizzes up to the surface then its ready to go.

Lower in cubes in batches until golden and crisp, drain on kitchen paper.

Mix all dip ingredients together and serve hot.
